Quick reference for brewing the perfect cup of tea

 

BLACK TEA STEEPING INSTRUCTIONS:  

For black tea (known in China as red tea):

Heat the water to 208 degrees Fahrenheit

Add one pyramid or 1 Tbsp of loose tea for 6-8 ounces of water

Pour the heated water over the tea and steep for three to five minutes to taste

If adding milk, swirl hot water in your cup and add the milk to a pre-warmed cup; then add the tea

 

GREEN TEA STEEPING INSTRUCTIONS

Heat water to 175 degrees Fahrenheit

Add one pyramid or 1 Tbsp of loose tea for 6-8 ounces of water to your cup.

Pour the heated water over the tea and steep for two to three minutes to taste (if left longer than 3 minutes, bitterness will emerge)

Add sugar or honey for sweetness, if desired Milk (or, alternatively, lemon) is generally reserved for black tea.

 

WHITE TEA STEEPING INSTRUCTIONS

Heat the water to 175 degrees Fahrenheit

Add one pyramid or 1 Tbsp of loose tea for 6-8 ounces of water to your cup

Pour the heated water over the tea and steep for two to three minutes to taste (if left longer than 3 minutes, bitterness will emerge)

Add sugar or honey for sweetness, if desired Milk  (or, alternatively, lemon) is generally reserved for black tea.

 

HERBAL STEEPING INSTRUCTIONS

Heat the water to 208 degrees Fahrenheit

Add one pyramid or 1 Tbsp of loose tea for 6-8 ounces of water to your cup

Pour the heated water over the tea and steep for five minutes or longer
